We have a dual expertise in both advisory and litigation matters.<\/p><p><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );\">We are passionate about our work, highly responsive and dedicated to finding the best legal and practical solutions for our clients.<\/span>We speak several languages and have correspondents all over the world.<\/p><p><b>The Law of the XII Tables<\/b> (in Latin : <i>Lex Dvodecim Tabvlarvm<\/i> or simply <i>Dvodecim Tabvlae<\/i>) was the first body of written Roman law.Their writing is the founding act of the <i>ius scriptum<\/i>written law.<br \/>This legislation was drawn up to protect plebeians from the arbitrariness of magistrates. In Roman eyes, it quickly became the source of all law.<\/p><p>Its longevity was exceptional: it remained in force for ten centuries (until the Justinian compilations in 529 AD).<br \/>In addition, the Law of the XII Tables was adopted according to a new procedure: it was voted by the comices (assemblies of all citizens), thus marking the beginning of the people&#8217;s intervention in the voting of the law.<\/p><p>Later laws were also submitted to the vote of the comices.<br \/>In all, some 800 laws were passed during the 5 centuries of the
